THIS National Children’s Medal and Ariat National Adult Medal Suspend Qualifying Classes
Upper Marlboro, MD – March 17, 2020 – Capital Challenge Horse Show (CCHS) and Ryegate Show Services announce that effective immediately and with the guidance of US Equestrian (USEF), qualifying for Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal and Ariat National Adult Medal classes is suspended for any horse shows held in the next 30 days.
Should any horse shows present THIS National Children’s Medal or Ariat Adult Medal classes, points will not be granted. It is requested that any competitions held during this time period not offer or hold any qualifying classes. As this is an evolving situation, Capital Challenge Horse Show and Ryegate Show Services will update with any new policies or an extension of this suspension.
From the USEF press release dated March 13, 2020:
"Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, all USEF owned events, selection trials, training camps, clinics, and activities will be suspended for the next 30 days. Additionally, USEF strongly recommends that competition organizers suspend all USEF licensed competitions across the country for the next 30 days. For those competitions that do run, there will be no accumulation of points, scores, money won, qualifications, or rankings toward any USEF awards programs, USEF owned event, or selection to a U.S. team during this 30-day time period. This includes USEF National Championships."
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact Annette Longenecker at annettel@ryegate.com.

The THIS National Children's Medal is a series of equitation classes held throughout the year in which junior riders collect points in order to qualify for the year-end finals. The THIS National Children's Medal was created in 1994 in order to give young riders the opportunity to gain equitation experience at the 3' height.
Since its inception in 1995, the Ariat National Adult Medal has given adult riders the opportunity to compete in a competitive equitation class over fences 3' in height. The classes are held at select shows across the country and riders collect points to qualify for the Finals. Approximately the top 30 riders on the qualifying list are invited to compete at the Finals.
